Lithuania’s annual inflation rate edged up to 5.9% in July 2026 from 5.7% in June, reaching its highest level since August 2023. Price growth accelerated notably in several categories, including housing and utilities (15.1% vs 12.0% in June), furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (2.4% vs 1.2%), health (4.9% vs 3.8%), education (5.3% vs 5.0%), and clothing and footwear (1.8% vs 1.7%).
At the same time, inflation slowed in transport (12.5% vs 13.4%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (7.6% vs 7.8%), information and communication (1.6% vs 3.1%), recreation, sport and culture (5.2% vs 5.8%), restaurants and accommodation (5.5% vs 6.1%), insurance and financial services (5.3% vs 5.6%), and miscellaneous goods and services (5.7% vs 5.8%). In addition, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages declined (-0.3% vs +0.1% previously).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.2% in July, slowing from a 0.5% increase in June.
