Industrial production in Saudi Arabia declined by 16.3% year-on-year in June 2026, moderating from an 18.7% contraction in May. Output in the oil sector also fell at a slower pace (-23.2% vs. -26.3% in May), mainly due to a smaller drop in crude petroleum and natural gas extraction (-27.0% vs. -28.6%) and in the production of coke and refined petroleum products (-6.0% vs. -16.7%).
At the same time, growth in other economic activities inched up to 3.4% from 3.3%, supported by a recovery in electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (2.8% vs. -1.4%) and a faster expansion in water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities (6.0% vs. 5.7%).
However, non-oil activity growth slowed slightly, easing to 0.1% from 0.5%, even as the contraction in manufacturing output narrowed somewhat (-0.5% vs. -0.6%). On a monthly basis, industrial production rose by 4.6%, picking up from a 3.2% increase in May.
