The DAX 40 rose 0.2% to around 26,360 in early Monday trading, extending the previous week’s gains and setting a new all-time high. However, investors remained cautious amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East and uncertainty surrounding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Negotiations between Iran and Oman have yet to yield a final agreement, with Tehran insisting on significant concessions before allowing the vital shipping route to resume normal operations.
On the corporate front, Siemens Energy advanced 2.5% and Infineon climbed 3.0%, buoyed by sustained strength in the technology and industrial sectors. Allianz added 1.4%, Merck gained 1.2%, and Qiagen NV rose 2.6%. In contrast, notable declines were recorded by Porsche Automobil (-2.5%), Siemens Healthineers (-1.3%), and Brenntag (-1.5%).
