The latest gross domestic product (GDP) figures, updated on 20 August 2026, show that while activity remains robust, the pace of expansion is slowing.
The data are based on a year-over-year comparison, measuring the change in GDP in the second quarter of 2026 against the same period a year earlier. The previous figure likewise reflected a year-over-year comparison, with first-quarter 2026 GDP growth measured against the first quarter of the prior year.
The deceleration from 5.9% to 4.6% suggests that the Danish economy is moving off its earlier peak rate of expansion, though it continues to grow at a solid clip in annual terms.
