Mexico’s economic activity grew 2.8% year-on-year in June 2026, surpassing market expectations of 1.1% and accelerating from the 1.1% expansion recorded in May. Growth was led by the tertiary sector, which increased 3.6%, supported by robust performances in wholesale trade (14.3%), government services (6.5%), and mass media and information services (3.8%).
The primary sector expanded 2.8%, bolstered by a 5.3% rise in livestock production. The secondary sector grew 1.7%, reflecting a 6.6% increase in mining output and a 5.0% expansion in construction activity. On a month-on-month basis, however, overall economic activity slipped 0.1% following a 0.3% decline in the previous month.
