Among large caps, performance was mixed: Samsung C&T climbed 3.6%, Shinhan Financial Group advanced 1.5%, and Doosan Enerbility jumped 4.8%, while SK Square and LG Energy Solution declined 1.7% and 1.1%, respectively. A pullback in US Treasury yields also supported equities by easing valuation pressures on technology stocks. At the same time, falling oil prices and reduced worries over potential disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz helped alleviate concerns over South Korea’s import costs. Still, investors remained cautious ahead of Nvidia’s earnings, which are seen as a key catalyst for the broader AI and semiconductor sectors.
