Croatia’s annual inflation rate accelerated to 4.1% in August 2026, up from a five-month low of 3.9% in July, according to a preliminary estimate. The increase was mainly driven by a 17.4% surge in energy prices, reflecting supply disruptions linked to the conflict in the Middle East. Prices of food, beverages and tobacco inched up 0.1%, while service prices advanced 7.2%. In contrast, prices of non-energy industrial goods declined by 1.3%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.3%, following a 0.2% decrease in the previous month.
