Georgia’s economy expanded by 6.9% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, slightly above the 6.7% growth recorded in Q1. However, growth dynamics varied significantly across sectors.

Output growth decelerated in several key industries, including mining and quarrying (4.6% vs 10.4% in Q1 2026), accommodation and food service activities (7.9% vs 12.4%), water supply (12.7% vs 17.4%), information and communication (16.6% vs 36.0%), financial and insurance services (8.5% vs 11.7%), professional, scientific and technical activities (9.2% vs 9.4%), administrative and support service activities (0.2% vs 6.6%), and public administration and defence, including compulsory social security (6.2% vs 7.4%).

Contractions deepened in agriculture (-3.5% vs -3.3%) and construction (-4.8% vs -2.0%), indicating continued weakness in these sectors.
