Consumers became slightly more pessimistic about both their household financial situation (-13.8 vs -13.6 in August) and the country’s economic situation over the past year (-52.6 vs -51.7). Meanwhile, the balance of opinions on past price developments eased to 58.5 from 59.8.
Looking ahead, expectations for the country’s economic conditions deteriorated slightly (-35 vs -34.8), while views on households’ financial prospects held steady at -7. By contrast, price expectations rose to 46.5 from 45.4.
