Colombia’s Davivienda Manufacturing PMI rose to 54.6 in September 2026 from 54.3 in August, indicating the strongest improvement in operating conditions since October 2025. Factory output increased for a fifth consecutive month, posting its fastest expansion since November 2025, while new orders grew sharply, with the pace of growth among the strongest recorded in the survey’s history.
Manufacturers substantially increased their input purchasing, and stocks of purchases rose for a fourth straight month, albeit only marginally. In contrast, inventories of finished goods declined further as firms drew down existing stocks to meet stronger demand. Employment expanded for the sixth month in a row, while backlogs of work were broadly unchanged.
Input cost inflation eased to a nine-month low, and selling price inflation also moderated. Supplier performance, however, continued to deteriorate, with delivery times lengthening at the fastest rate in three months amid disruptions related to the earthquake, business closures, and traffic congestion. Business confidence strengthened further at the close of the third quarter.
