Norway House Price Slows in September

House prices in Norway increased by 0.3% month-on-month in September 2026, easing from a 0.8% rise in August. A total of 10,491 homes were sold, down 5.8% from a year earlier, while 10,904 properties were listed for sale, 4.2% fewer than in the same month of the previous year.

The average time on the market fell to 48 days from 50 days in August, with homes selling fastest in Bergen (15 days) and slowest in Fredrikstad/Sarpsborg (91 days). Among the regions, Ålesund posted the strongest monthly price growth at 1.9%. In contrast, Fredrikstad/Sarpsborg and Kristiansand with surrounding areas recorded the weakest developments, each seeing prices fall by 0.2%.

Year-on-year, house prices were up 2.4% in September, broadly unchanged from the 2.4% increase in August. Over the January–September 2026 period, prices were 4.2% higher than in the same period of 2025.
