In addition, 382.1 thousand people had been out of work for more than a year, indicating a significant share of long-term unemployment.
On a year-on-year basis, the unemployment rate was 0.2 percentage points higher than in September 2025, when it stood at 5.6%. Separately, reported job vacancies at the end of the month rose by 2.8 thousand to 47.2 thousand.
