Taiwan’s economy recorded a strong acceleration in the third quarter of 2026, with gross domestic product (GDP) expanding by 14.36% year-on-year, up from 12.93% in the second quarter of 2026. The latest figure, updated on 30 October 2026, highlights a continued strengthening of growth momentum on an annual basis.
Both the current and previous readings are measured as year-on-year changes, comparing each quarter of 2026 to the same quarter a year earlier. The Q3 2026 result therefore reflects a faster pace of expansion than in Q2 2026, signalling that Taiwan’s economic activity has gained further traction as the year has progressed.
