Vietnam’s industrial production rose by 15.0% year-on-year in October 2026, up from 14.2% in September and marking the fastest pace since January. The acceleration was underpinned by stronger growth in processing and manufacturing (15.7% vs. 15.1% in September) and in electricity production and distribution (15.7% vs. 10.4%).
Within manufacturing, metal production growth picked up markedly (27.3% vs. 20.9%), while the expansion in electrical equipment manufacturing also strengthened (10.1% vs. 4.7%). By contrast, output growth eased in electronic products (18.6% vs. 19.8%) and in other transport equipment (14.2% vs. 28.8%).
Elsewhere, growth in the mining industry slowed (4.9% vs. 6.6%), and the pace of expansion in water supply, waste management and wastewater treatment also softened (7.8% vs. 10.9%). On a monthly basis, industrial output increased by 2.3%. Over the January–October period, industrial production was up 12.4% compared with the same period a year earlier.
