According to preliminary estimates, Sweden’s annual inflation rate eased to 0.9% in October 2026 from 1.1% in September, when it had reached its highest level since February 2025. The latest figure also fell short of market expectations of 1.2%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices were unchanged from September, missing forecasts for a 0.3% increase and following a 0.9% rise in the previous month.
Meanwhile, the consumer price index with a fixed interest rate (CPIF), the Riksbank’s target measure, increased by 1.1% year-on-year, down from a four-month high of 1.5% in September, while remaining flat on a monthly basis. Core inflation, measured as CPIF excluding energy, slowed more sharply to 0.1% from 0.5% in the prior month, with prices declining 0.2% on a monthly basis.
These preliminary data suggest subdued price pressures ahead of the final CPI release scheduled for November 12.
