The United States has been working on the creation of an electromagnetic rail gun for more than a year. Recent tests of weapons in America have been recognized as successful.

In the WSJ article on the railgun, it is said that this development will allow the States to be on the head above their main opponents - Russia and China.

Despite the tension in the relations between the major world powers, experts believe that the emergence of an armed conflict between countries is unlikely. However, it should be noted that the Pentagon has seriously approached the issue of creating prospective weapons for the first time in twenty-five years, that is, since the end of the Cold War.

The creators of the super-gun consider their invention useful not only for the United States but also for the Baltic States, which, in their opinion, also need protection against Russia, as well as allies of the Americans who are important in containing the aggression of the PRC in the South China Sea.

It is assumed that such guns will be placed on the newest destroyers of the type Zumwalt. However, according to experts, we should not exclude the possibility that the projectiles will be adapted to other warships.
