One Blackfriars: architectural brilliance in London
A 52-storey mixed-use skyscraper is under construction on the Thames river. The development consists of two smaller buildings of 6 and 4 stories respectively. The focal point is a 52-storey tower, informally known as the Vase.
The construction is in full swing at the junction of Blackfriars Road and Stamford Street at Bankside close to the famous Tower bridge. The main building will house 247 luxury apartments. Among them are 13 studio flats, 78 one-bedroom flats, 120 two-bedroom flats, 56 three-bedroom flats, 6 four-bedroom flats, and 1 huge triplex.
Apartments on the upper floors offer spectacular panoramic views around the capital. The apartment design was created by Tara Bernard & Partners.
Projects of apartments were named in honor of renowned British painters such as Thomas Gainsborough, William Turner, and Barbara Hepworth. The interior design highlights the idea. Designers chose appropriate furniture and materials.
Exquisite apartments are flooded with light by way of floor-to-ceiling windows, light-colored walls, and special designer techniques. Apartments are equipped with hi-tech kitchen devices and air conditioners.
Prices start from £1.15 mln ($1.4 mln) for a one-bedroom studio. The Kensington Suite, which covers almost 500 sq meters on the 43rd floor, is priced at £23 mln ($28 mln).
Dwellers of this elite residential property will enjoy pleasant extras like a gym, spa, six Olympic swimming pools and others. Most modern residential developments also contain such extras as they are beneficial to both sellers and buyers.
The lounge with soft furniture on the 32nd floor opens breath-taking views over the city.
Underneath the building there is even a winery. Expensive noble wines will occupy shelves from top to bottom.
Besides, a three-floor basement includes a cinema, though it will seat just 20 people. The construction of the Vase will be completed in 2018.
