Rally near Goldman Sachs: protest against swamp
The rally started on January 17. Some were armed with sleeping bags to protest until the inauguration.
Dozens of protesters, more than 60 people, gathered outside of Goldman Sachs downtown headquarters.
Trump pledged during his campaign to “drain the swamp” of special interests and not to nominate candidates to the presidential administration drom the representatives of Wall Street. In order to remind the new head of the state of his words, the protesters wore green swamp-thing masks.
Protesters' accusations were not unfounded. Donald Trump has tagged several former Goldman executives for top jobs in his administration.
Gary Cohen, the former president of Goldman Sachs, has joined the National Economic Council under the new president of the USA. And he became the head of this organization. Stephen Mnuchin, the future finance minister, also worked in this financial institution, as well as Stephen Bannon, the new strategic investor in the billionaire's administration, and Dina Powell, claiming for the post of senior adviser.
