According to the results of the vote held at the International Motor Show in New York, the crossover Jaguar F-Pace from the UK is recognized as the car of the year - World Car of the Year 2017. The car is also noted as the best in design and has received the second title - World Car Design of the Year.

Outstanding representatives of passenger cars in 2017 were determined by the jury in five categories: World Car of the Year, World Performance Car, World Green Car, World Car Design and World Urban Car.

Among the premium cars (World Luxury Car), the winner was Mercedes-Benz E-class.

This competition has been holding for 12 years. The jury consists of 75 journalists from specialized publications from 24 countries, four of which are Russians. Another winner of the auto competition was Porsche. The roadster and coupe Porsche Boxster/Cayman got the title Sports Car of the Year.

In the nomination World Green Car the victory was left for the hybrid Toyota Prius Prime, followed by the electric cars Chevrolet Bolt and Tesla Model X. The winner in this category was selected from 58 models of world manufacturers. Only 17 came to the finals.

World Comfortable Car went to BMW i3. It is equipped with a new battery pack 94 Ah. In the final, the BMW i3 beats Citroen C3 and Suzuki Ignis.
