The new subway station is located on the site of the collapsed twin towers not accidentally - the design of the Oculus building should remind all city residents and guests of the sad events of September 11, 2001. The roof of the building, coined by the Spanish artist Santiago Calatrava, is made in the form of the wings of a large white bird.

The implementation of the project took 12 years and $3.9 billion. It is known that the expenses for the construction exceeded the originally planned amount twice. In addition, it was assumed that the hub station Oculus will appear in New York much earlier - in 2010.
