The confrontation between Apple and the FBI
The most active advocates of privacy (a certain set of rights related to personal information, private life and space) on the Internet have organized a new campaign in support of Apple, which is currently undergoing a lawsuit with the FBI due to a refusal to provide access to the encrypted iPhone data of the terrorist. The idea of a technological giant is this: if they disclose the option of access to one iPhone to the FBI - gadgets of millions of people in the future can be hacked.
The group Fight for the Future originally comments on this topic in social networks using #SaveSecurity hashtag. Participants intend to read these comments aloud at the courthouse in California.
After a court order obliging Apple to transfer the virtual key to the FBI for the terrorist's mobile phone, Fight for the Future organized a series of protests.
"This case concerns not only a single phone, but also the security and protection of millions of personal data of people around the world," said the organizer of the group Fight for the Future, Evan Greer. "What the government wants to do in this particular case is not just an attempt to bypass our fundamental rights, but a threat to us all!"
Representatives of Apple in the documents submitted to the court note that the ancestors would have been horrified by such demands of the government. According to the lawyers of the company, the FBI intends to rewrite history, usurp the function of the legislature and illegally increase the powers of the federal court.
The FBI has its own views on this. The bureau believes that Apple's refusal to comply with the court's decision is the so-called targeted component of the marketing strategy, nothing more.
