In September 2021, Apple’s CEO said that augmented reality was “a critically important part of Apple's future.” He imagines AR being used in health, education, retail, gaming, etc.

The long-awaited AR headset from Apple may appear as early as this year. Its creators are planning to replace the iPhone with a new product. In fact, this may happen in the next 10 years. The AR headset is expected to be more powerful than the iPhone. Its power could be compared with the MacBook one. It will also have a chip created by Apple.

The next step is the issue of AR glasses. Externally they will hardly differ from ordinary glasses, but they are expected to be more compact. AR glasses, like the AR headset, provide the same reality-based environment, visible to the naked eye, but with the addition of visual modeling or content. As a result, the owner of such glasses will have a wider field of vision. Notably, people with poor eyesight may also wear such glasses.

Smart home devices

Developing this sphere, Apple is planning to create gadgets based on the initial code of the HomeKit instrument. In addition, the company is also working on homeOS, an operating system for smart homes. For example, a smart speaker, HomePod, can connect to Apple TV, whereas FaceTime allows users to organize video conferencing.

iPhone to support healthcare system

According to Tim Cook, Apple is planning to contribute to healthcare. At the moment, the company is focused on the possibility of transferring medical records to the iPhone. The company is performing a b-testing of the product. It intends to spread it to the whole US healthcare system. From 2022, the T6 app will allow US traumatologists to stay in touch with the team at hospital in real time.

This allows users to monitor heart rate, physiological state, blood pressure, respiratory rate, body water content, and other indicators. Such bio-sensors could be also integrated into iMac, iPad, iPhone, various wearable devices, and even kitchen appliances. Augmented reality is closer than we think.
