In February 2015, the Japanese company Softbank launched a trial sale of the humanoid robots Pepper. And already in June, a sales record was set - a batch of 1000 robots was sold out in just one minute. There were so many potential buyers that lucky ones were chosen by lot.

In 2015, the Asimo robot welcomed the US President Barack Obama at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation. It can walk and run at a speed of 6 km/h, communicate with people, hold a plate, and serve food.

In October 2014, the robot Repliee S1 had a role in a theatrical play. The well-known Japanese director Oriza Hirata entrusted the android with the main role in Kafka's novel "Transformation".

Kuratas is a combat robot weighing 4 tons, which is capable of moving at a speed of 10 km/h. In this case, the robot must be controlled by the pilot. He is housed in a special cabin and takes control over it using a dashboard inside a suit or smartphone. Kuratas exists in a single copy and costs about 1 million dollars.

Sony released the first robotic dogs AIBO back in June 1999. Then the price of one mechanical animal was more than 2 thousand dollars. Dogs are equipped with various sensors, and the last generation even knows how to talk. Many robots live with their masters for more than 10 years and have become real family members.

The robot companion Kirobo was entered in the Guinness Book of Records in March 2015. It was the first machine to communicate with the Earth from space by means of the human language and which, moved from it further than all its mechanical brethren. Japanese Kirobo spent 1.5 years at the International Space Station.

The smallest robot Robo-Q was presented in Japan in October 2008. Its height is only 3.4 cm. A tiny humanoid is able to detect obstacles, run, play football for robots. In this, it is assisted by built-in infrared sensors.

Professor Hiroshi Ishiguro from Japan created his twin - the robot Geminoid HI-4. The professor explained that the purpose of the twin is an imitation of the presence of a person who is actually at a great distance in a certain place.

The robot girl HRP-4C, also known as Miim, was created in the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology. The height of Miim is 159 centimeters, and the weight together with the battery pack is 43 kilograms. The creators were able to endow their creation with realistic, anthropomorphic features of the face and body. Having a typical physique of a young Japanese girl, Miim became a star. She sings, dances, is removed in music videos and walks along the catwalk as a model.

The Partner Robot can play the violin. In order for the android to be able to play on this instrument, the authors provided each of his hands with 17 degrees of freedom and the corresponding program. The developers claim that this robot performs musical compositions almost like a person, and his hands have similar to human strength and accuracy of movements.
