Rarest dollar bills

A $500 banknote is the first banknote in the history of the United States, the value of which was more than $100. It was being issued only one year (in 1928) because of the need for transactions between large financial companies and banks. The banknote depicts 25th President of the United States of America William McKinley (who held the post from 1897 to 1901). There are only a few copies of such banknotes, but officially they were not withdrawn from circulation. And it is unlikely that you will meet them anywhere besides the USA: such money can not be exported outside the United States.

On the largest banknote, with a face value of $100,000 released in 1934, you can see a portrait of Woodrow Wilson (1856-1924), the 28th president of the United States. In addition to being one of the authors of the Treaty of Versailles and the statute of the League of Nations, Wilson was also a laureate of the 1919 Nobel Peace Prize. The design of the banknote was no longer changed, and the banknote itself never went into free circulation. It was used exclusively in official calculations and only within the walls of the Federal Reserve Banks.

Yes, it exists - a bill of one million dollars. It was released in 1988. A unique protective paper, considerable amount of ultraviolet symbols and a wide variety of micro-patterns were used when printing it. The whole lot was printed in a limited edition, after which the forms were destroyed.

It is worth noting that the bill of $1 million is not officially a monetary unit.
