Volkswagen Group and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. have solidified their partnership by engaging in their first supply agreement. This agreement concerns components of Volkswagen's MEB, which are to be used for Mahindra's new electric platform, termed as INGLO. Further, the agreement extends to the supply of specific electric components and unified cells.
Mahindra has expressed its intention to launch a series of five fully electric SUVs in India, which will be based on the INGLO platform. The first of these new vehicles is expected to be introduced in December 2024. This long-term agreement is set to oversee a total volume of roughly 50 GWh throughout its lifetime.
It's important to note that Volkswagen's MEB platform and its components are utilized by a number of reputable brands. These include not only Volkswagen and Audi, but also Škoda, SEAT/CUPRA, and external partners such as Ford and Mahindra.
