In March 2025, retail sales in Greece experienced a modest year-on-year increase of 0.3%, marking a significant slowdown from the robust 5.6% rise observed in February. This deceleration was evident in several categories, with automotive fuel sales increasing by just 0.5% compared to a much higher 6.6% in the previous month and non-food products growing by 3.4%, down from 4.6%. Meanwhile, food sales witnessed a decline of 0.3%, reversing a strong 7.1% gain seen in February. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, however, retail sales did see a 2% increase in March.
