Additionally, reports indicate that the Hong Kong Monetary Authority is intensifying its scrutiny of banks' management of non-performing loans amidst escalating stress in the real estate sector. The index saw widespread declines, particularly in the technology and property sectors. Xiaomi experienced a 4.7% drop after cautioning about potential smartphone price increases next year due to escalating memory-chip costs. Other notable decliners included Pop Mart International, down 2.4%, and SMIC, which fell by 1.2%.
