Austria's annual inflation rate held steady at 4% in October 2025, consistent with both the previous month and earlier estimates. The most significant contributor to this rate was the cost of housing and utilities, which saw an increase to 6.6% from September's 6%. This was followed by a rise in prices for restaurants and hotels, which adjusted to 6% from 6.3%, as well as health services, which decreased to 5% from 5.5%. Food and non-alcoholic beverages prices increased slightly to 4% from 3.9%. Conversely, there was a decline in communication costs, which dropped further from -5.9% to -6.4%, and a steady decrease in furnishings, household equipment, and maintenance costs at -0.6%. Meanwhile, the inflation rate for education eased significantly from 6.5% to 5.2%. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices experienced a 0.4% increase in October, bouncing back from a 0.2% decline in the prior period.
