The month-over-month comparison shows that while the index is still expanding, the pace of improvement has slowed marginally. In May, the 0.15% gain reflected a slightly stronger advance versus the prior month, whereas June’s 0.14% rise points to a more cautious outlook as the economy moves into the second half of the year.
