Turkey’s industrial production contracted 0.3% year-on-year in July 2026, moderating from a downwardly revised 1.3% decline in June but still marking the third consecutive monthly drop. Output in mining and quarrying fell further, shrinking 3.8% after a 1.4% decline in the previous month. Meanwhile, production in electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply decreased 5.6%, reversing a 1.1% increase in June.
These declines were partly offset by a recovery in manufacturing, where output rose 0.3% after a 1.4% contraction in June. Within manufacturing, production rebounded in tobacco products (up 1.1% vs. down 2.8% previously), leather and related products (up 0.2% vs. down 3.1%), computer, electronic and optical products (up 4.4% vs. down 5.6%), and machinery and equipment (up 0.8% vs. down 7.6%). Growth also strengthened in textiles (4.5% vs. 1.3%) and in other non-metallic mineral products (4.0% vs. 1.8%).
On a monthly basis, industrial production decreased 1% in July, following an upwardly revised 0.2% increase in June.
