Romania’s industrial production contracted further in July 2026, underscoring persistent weakness in the country’s manufacturing and industrial sectors. Year-over-year output fell by 6.1%, according to data updated on 15 September 2026.
The latest reading marks a deterioration from June 2026, when industrial production was already down 5.2% compared with the same month a year earlier. Both figures are calculated on a year-over-year basis, comparing each month’s performance with that of the corresponding month in the previous year.
The back-to-back declines signal mounting pressure on Romania’s industrial base and could weigh on broader economic momentum if the downturn persists in the coming months.
