Romania’s industrial production contracted further in July 2026, underscoring persistent weakness in the country’s manufacturing sector. Month-over-month output fell by 1.4% in July, compared with a 0.7% decline in June, according to data updated on 15 September 2026.
The comparison is based on monthly changes, with July’s figure measuring output against June, and June’s figure measured against May. The sharper drop suggests that industrial activity continued to lose steam as the summer progressed, marking a second consecutive month of negative growth and pointing to a more pronounced slowdown in Romania’s industrial base.
