The National Institute of Economic Research released survey results indicating that Sweden's economic confidence remained virtually unchanged in February. The economic tendency index was reported at 90.5 in February, only slightly down from 90.6 the previous month.
Manufacturing industry morale dropped marginally by 0.8 points to 98.4 in February. According to the survey, manufacturing firms project a small decrease in workforce numbers over the upcoming three months. However, these expectations are still above the average.
There was a different narrative for the construction and retail sectors, where confidence indicators showed improvement in February. Service sector confidence also increased in February, but it continues to be the most pessimistic area within the business sector.
The consumer confidence index was stable at 82.7 in February. Despite this, consumer outlooks about their personal financial situations over the forthcoming 12 months have slightly declined since January.
