At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024, Intel Corporation rolled out its latest AI-focused platforms, solutions, and services including the modernized vPro platform and high-end Core Ultra processors.
The vPro platform, specifically designed for business application, comes equipped with built-in management, security, and connectivity features. Its aim is to improve productivity by merging Intel Arc Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) with Ultra mobile chips and neural processing units.
Intel and Microsoft plan to launch nearly 100 business devices equipped with vPro processors and Windows 11. These devices will come from partners such as Acer, ASUS, Dell, Dynabook, Fujitsu, HP, Lenovo, LG, Microsoft Surface, NEC, Panasonic, Samsung, and VAIO.
The redeveloped vPro platform, powered by the complete range of 14th Gen Core processors, is expected to boost office application productivity by up to 47% compared to PCs that are three years old. Along with this, the new vPro platform comprises features like the Silicon Security Engine for hardware-level authentication, Device Health for vulnerability identification, Threat Detection Technology for improved threat prevention, and Hardware Shield offering comprehensive protection.
The AI PC experience, being exclusive to mobile vPro systems for now, is planned to be introduced to vPro desktops by Intel in the future. The company anticipates that these enhancements will not only boost performance but also promote more sustainable device upgrade cycles for businesses.
Additonally, Intel emphasizes that more than 94% of Intel vPro-powered devices achieve an EPEAT Silver rating or higher, championing eco-friendly options for desktop and laptop PCs. Intel foresees the launch of over 30 PCs in the current year equipped with Intel Meteor Lake chips and vPro technology.
