As per the latest figures provided by the French Statistical Office, INSEE, there was no change in France's payroll employment during the last quarter, consistent with initial predictions.
The zero growth observed in payroll employment followed a modest 0.2% increase in the prior quarter. This unchanged status of the fourth quarter aligns with the estimate publicized on February 7.
With regards to net job creation, there were 11,900 new jobs in this period compared to a significantly higher inflow of 60,800 jobs in the previous one.
However, overall job creation surpassed its level from the fourth quarter of 2022 by 0.6%, equating to 150,000 jobs.
A comparison of the sectors revealed disparate performances. While private payroll employment experienced a slight decrease of 0.1%, reversing the 0.2% increase observed in the previous quarter, public payroll employment noted an enhanced growth rate of 0.4%, doubling from the earlier 0.2%.
Temporary employment, which has been on a declining path since the start of the year, fell by an additional 1.7%.
