Stellantis Ventures, the corporate venture capital wing of Stellantis N.V., has invested in the company SteerLight, which is a pioneer in the development of a new class of high-performance LiDAR sensing technology. Originating from the French CEA-Leti technology center, SteerLight utilises Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave LiDAR. This is integrated with silicon photonics technology, allowing the system to be housed on a microchip. Stellantis anticipates that this technology will significantly enhance the performance of advanced driver assistance systems, including automated driving, in future vehicles from Stellantis brands.
Stellantis Ventures, which was established in 2022, has to date made investments in 12 startups and one mobility fund.
