Nucor Corporation has bought Southwest Data Products, Inc., a company that manufactures and installs data center infrastructures, for $115 million. In addition, Nucor has announced the establishment of a new division, Nucor Data Systems, aimed at enhancing its services in the data center infrastructure sector.
The acquisition of Southwest Data Products and the launch of Nucor Data Systems will enhance Nucor's capacity in its warehouse system businesses. This expansion will include improvements in airflow containment structures as well as the development of new product capabilities. These capabilities will range from manufacturing cabinets or enclosures to the provision of installation services for data centers.
