JetBlue Airways Corp., New York's local airline, and Etihad Airways, the official airline of the United Arab Emirates, have disclosed an expansion of their long-standing codeshare partnership that includes customer loyalty benefits commencing on May 8, 2024. This agreement will now allow members of JetBlue's TrueBlue loyalty program and participants of Etihad Guest, Etihad Airways' loyalty program, to earn and redeem points within either airline's program throughout their respective networks.
In the eyes of JetBlue, this extension of their partnership provides both JetBlue TrueBlue members and Etihad Guest members with increased opportunities to earn and redeem points when travelling. This makes the exploration of each airline's network of leading global destinations increasingly rewarding.
Additionally, this alliance enhances the various redemption options of the existing programs. Etihad Guest miles can be redeemed not only for flights but also for global hotel stays and can even be converted into a reward card for shopping purchases.
Such customer loyalty strategies build upon the nearly ten-year partnership between the two airlines. This partnership provides a bridge between New York and Boston to Etihad's worldwide network, reaching over 70 destinations, and more than 40 destinations across the Americas through JetBlue's network.
