The Swiss market concluded Friday's trading session significantly lower, as stocks remained under pressure amidst concerns regarding the global economic growth outlook.
The benchmark SMI fell by 115.29 points, or 0.95%, closing at 12,012.87. Throughout the session, the index fluctuated, reaching a high of 12,110.54 and dipping to a low of 11,987.23.
Among the decliners, Holcim dropped by 3.48%, UBS Group decreased by approximately 3.2%, and ABB fell by 2.83%. Additionally, SGS and Partners Group saw declines of 2.38% and 2.08%, respectively.
Sika, VAT Group, and Julius Baer recorded losses ranging from 1.6% to 2%. Other companies such as Nestle, Geberit, Straumann Holding, Kuehne & Nagel, Sonova, Logitech International, and SIG Group ended the day with decreases between 0.7% and 1.25%.
ams OSRAM AG experienced a significant drop of 5.29%, while Adecco and Avolta fell by 2.52% and 2.31%, respectively. Temenos Group, Georg Fischer, and Clariant also closed with notable declines.
In contrast, Lindt & Spruengli saw an increase of 1.3%, and Roche GS finished up by 1.12%. Flughafen Zurich, BKW, and Galenica Sante posted modest gains.
