Toyota Motor Corp. (TM) announced on Friday the re-launch of the GR86 special edition. This model is equipped with a 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder boxer engine that delivers 228 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft of torque.
The special edition GR86 boasts 18-inch satin bronze-finished wheels, a color-matched duck-tail spoiler, black accents, and a Hakone badge. It is fitted with SACHS Dampers and Brembo Brakes for enhanced performance.
Inside, the GR86 features an 8-inch touchscreen multimedia system, a six-speaker audio setup, and a digital instrument panel.
Weighing a mere 2,811 pounds, the GR86 will be one of the lightest sports cars available on the market, according to the company.
Toyota also announced that only 860 units of this special edition will be produced for the U.S. market by 2025.
Furthermore, Toyota is offering a complimentary one-year membership to the National Auto Sport Association with the purchase of any 2025 GR86. This membership includes one free High-Performance Driving Event and discounted entry to NASA-sanctioned events.
As of now, Toyota’s stock is trading at $208.27, reflecting a 2.23 percent increase on the New York Stock Exchange.
