Airbus SE (EADSY.PK) announced on Friday a new initiative named LEAD! aimed at addressing rising costs and improving the company’s performance, as reported by multiple sources.
"Given the ongoing pressure within the supply chain and the generally complex economic environment, it is essential to focus our efforts on core principles," an Airbus spokesperson told Bloomberg.
"This approach will enable us to stabilize our current industrial ramp-up to meet customer demands, sustain our growth trajectory, and prepare for future investments," the spokesperson continued.
According to Reuters, the new plan involves some job cuts, capping the number of job postings, and tackling productivity issues.
In an internal memo, CEO Christian Scherer highlighted the increasing competition from China, noting the country's strong state support and substantial domestic market.
