In September, construction production within the Eurozone experienced a slight decline, as reported by Eurostat on Wednesday. The construction output dipped by 0.1 percent month-over-month, following a stagnant performance in August.
The modest decrease in output was primarily attributed to a 0.8 percent drop in building construction and a 0.4 percent decline in specialized construction activities. Conversely, there was a notable 1.4 percent rise in civil engineering activities.
Year-on-year, the contraction in construction output has lessened to 1.6 percent from a previous 2.5 percent decline.
Similarly, construction output across the EU saw a minor reduction of 0.1 percent on a monthly basis and a 2.0 percent annual decrease.
The steepest monthly reductions in construction production were observed in Czechia, Slovakia, and the Netherlands. In contrast, Romania, Italy, Spain, and Slovenia registered the most significant increases.
