Japan reported a current account surplus of 2.456 trillion yen in October, according to the Ministry of Finance on Monday, marking a 13 percent decrease compared to the same month last year. This figure exceeded expectations, which anticipated a surplus of 2.318 trillion yen, and also showed an increase from 1.717 trillion yen in September.
Export levels rose by 2.9 percent on an annual basis, reaching 9.365 trillion yen, while imports decreased by 0.7 percent to 9.521 trillion yen, resulting in a trade deficit of 155.7 billion yen.
Additionally, the capital account recorded a surplus of 3.4 billion yen, and the financial account reported a surplus of 1.896 trillion yen.
