Industrial production in South Korea declined by a seasonally adjusted 0.7 percent in November, as reported by Statistics Korea on Monday. This figure did not meet the anticipated 0.4 percent decrease and follows an unchanged reading in October.
Annually, industrial output increased by 0.1 percent, falling short of the expected 0.4 percent rise, and comes after a significant 6.3 percent increase in the previous month.
The all-industry production index decreased by 0.4 percent from the previous month and was down 0.3 percent compared to the year before.
Retail sales showed a monthly increase of 0.4 percent, rebounding from a revised 0.8 percent decline in October (initially reported as a 0.4 percent decrease). However, year-on-year, sales fell by 1.9 percent.
