Estonia experienced a rise in producer prices in December, following a slight decline in the previous month, according to data released by Statistics Estonia on Monday.
The producer price index showed a year-over-year increase of 1.1% in December, marking a recovery from the 0.1% decrease observed in November.
Statistics Estonia attributed the December rebound primarily to price hikes in the sectors of wood and wood products manufacturing, machinery and equipment repair, and food product manufacturing.
On a month-to-month basis, there was a 0.4% increase in producer prices in December. This was mainly driven by price rises in the wood and wood products manufacturing sector, electricity and heat energy production, and food product manufacturing.
The data further revealed that import prices rose by 0.5% on a monthly basis and by 1.3% annually in December. Meanwhile, export prices increased by 1.4% for the month and saw a 2.5% rise compared to the previous year.
