Kroger Co. (KR), a key player in retail healthcare, announced on Wednesday that its healthcare division, Kroger Health, has entered into a strategic agreement with Express Scripts, part of Evernorth's pharmacy benefit services.
This collaboration enables Express Scripts' customers to access prescriptions and health services at Kroger pharmacy locations.
Under this new agreement, Kroger pharmacies are immediately available to serve Express Scripts' Medicare Part D and Tricare/Department of Defense beneficiaries. Additionally, the agreement paves the way for Express Scripts’ commercial and Medicaid clients to incorporate Kroger pharmacies into their networks, benefiting a client base of over 100 million individuals across the United States.
As of pre-market trading, Kroger Co. shares have risen by 0.34%, reaching $64.20 on the New York Stock Exchange.
