Indonesia's Consumer Confidence Takes a Slight Dip in February

Indonesia experienced a minor decline in consumer confidence in February, as the Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) eased slightly to 126.4 from the previous month's figure of 127.2. This fall, recorded on 11th March 2025, marks the first decline in consumer sentiment this year, following a notable figure in January.

The fluctuations come amid a diverse mix of economic challenges and opportunities within the Southeast Asian nation's economy. Analysts suggest that myriad external and internal factors, including global economic uncertainties and domestic policy adjustments, may have contributed to the dip in consumer sentiment.

Despite this downtick, the CCI remains in the positive territory — typically, a reading above 100 indicates optimism among consumers. As such, the sentiment remains broadly positive, suggesting that Indonesians are still relatively confident about the economic outlook, albeit with cautious nuances compared to the start of the year. Stakeholders and policymakers will keep a careful eye on subsequent readings as they strategize to bolster consumer confidence further in the coming months.
