In February 2025, South Korea experienced a 1.5% year-over-year rise in producer inflation, marking a slowdown from the revised figure of 1.8% observed in January. This deceleration was largely attributed to a more moderate increase in the prices of manufacturing products, which rose by 1.3% compared to 1.7% in the preceding month, and in services, which saw a 1.6% increase down from 1.8%. Conversely, the costs associated with electricity, water, and gas saw an uptick, escalating to 5.1% from the previous 4.2%. Meanwhile, the prices for agricultural, forestry, and marine products continued on a downward trend, decreasing by 2.1%, following a 1.9% reduction in January. On a month-over-month basis, producer prices remained unchanged after a 0.6% rise in January.
