In February 2025, the unemployment figures for mainland France saw an increase of 67,000 individuals from the preceding month, bringing the total to 3.229 million. This marks the sixth consecutive month of rising unemployment numbers, reaching the highest level recorded since September 2021. The most significant uptick was among individuals under 25, with an increase of 33,600, tallying up to 607,000. This was followed by core-aged individuals, who saw an increase of 30,400 to reach 1.773 million, and those aged 50 and above, who experienced a rise of 3,200, bringing their total to 815,400.
