Slovakia's construction output experienced a notable increase of 6.8% in March 2024 compared to the previous year, marking an improvement from the 3.4% rise observed in February. This growth was primarily fueled by heightened activity in the sectors of new construction, which saw a growth of 5.6% compared to 2.7% in February, and engineering construction, which experienced a significant jump to 15.3% from 4.9%. However, there was a downturn in the repair and maintenance sector, which declined by 0.4% following a 2.2% increase previously, and in building construction, which slightly worsened from a 0.3% decrease to 0.6%. Additionally, construction operations conducted overseas saw a remarkable surge, increasing by 36.2%, an improvement from the 26.2% rise in the prior month.
